Sign Out And Shared Devices

Sign out and shared devices

Your hivi account holds personal information. On shared machines, use the same care you would on a public kiosk unless you fully control disk encryption and separate OS user accounts.

On the website

Use the normal Sign out / Log out control in the hivi web app when you finish a session. Sign out ends your session cleanly; closing the tab alone can leave the next user on the same browser profile still signed in.

In the Chrome extension

Open the hivi autofill popup and use the sign out option there as well. The extension keeps its own session, so signing out keeps the next person on that Chrome profile on their own account.

Extra hardening

  • Prefer a separate Chrome profile for work vs. home if multiple people share one Windows or macOS login.
  • Clear site data for hivi.ca only if you know how to do so without breaking other saved logins you still need.
  • Store two-factor backup codes and recovery keys in a password manager or secure note rather than profile text fields.
